As the weather takes its first determinedly change of season, our attention drifts to the holidays. Some of our WelleCo staffers share their Australian travel destinations and what they're most looking forward to doing while they're there.
“I’ll be holidaying in Tasmania, an isolated island state in the very south of Australia (a.k.a the edge of the world). It is stunning with rugged wilderness, a pristine coastline and amazing local produce. Oh and the incredible MONA gallery of course. I’m looking forward to escaping into nature and leaving the world behind. Also eating lots of beautiful food. Hiking to waterfalls and up mountains will prevent me from rolling home after all the gastronomic delights (hopefully!).”
“I’ll be spending a couple of days at my mum and dad's farm in Donnybrook with all my siblings. It will consist of picking cherries, getting into heated arguments while playing Rummikub, and trying to finish one of the five books I’ve started in the last few months.”
“I’m excited to chill out (with zero phone reception) on my farm in the Wheatbelt where I grew up. We host our annual Christmas Party out in the fields.”
“I’ll be in Kalbar in country Queensland with my extended family. My aunt has a wonderful house right on top of the hill with gorgeous sweeping views across the ranges. We cook, eat, walk and relax. It is my favourite place on earth.”
“I’m off to Margaret River for the clear crisp air, the crystal blue water and brilliant white sand. I can’t wait to escape the rat race and spend time with my children, enjoy the beautiful wineries, long lingering lunches, Father Christmas, champagne and Pavlova.”
“I’ll be camping in beautiful Yallingup which is in the Margaret River region in Western Australia. In my spare time, in between eating and drinking wine, I’ll be learning to surf.”
