Three common questions we get asked about our Super Kids NOURISHING PLANT PROTEIN… and the answers.
Can younger kids of 4 or 5 years-old safely take Super Kids NOURISHING PLANT PROTEIN?
Dr Simone Laubscher PhD (DL): “Yes just give them 1/2 a scoop. It’s great for little ones for boosting their immune systems, especially at that age where they attend baby play groups (a real melting pot for bacteria!) I would also use a plant or oat milk. Both are great for kids, with no real taste or potential hormonal effects like soy or dairy milk has.”
Do my kids’ really need a protein supplement?
DL: “Kids I treat normally have a vitamin deficiency, low immunity or poor gut function. Most eat a low protein, carbohydrate-based breakfast like cereal or toast without any form of protein with it. Just like adults, kids need to consume protein, because it doesn’t naturally occur in the body. I normally give ideas to incorporate a portion of protein with breakfast to prevent blood sugar fluctuations, sugar cravings and to help sustain energy levels during the day. Kids need a balance of clean protein, veges and good carbs, but we know modern living can make it tricky. That’s why we developed Super Kids NOURISHING PLANT PROTEIN, full of essential nutrients for happy healthy kids.”
Q: Why is plant-based protein better than animal protein?
DL: “Kids digestive systems are all very unique. Some kids can easily digest everything, whilst others have digestive systems that are far more delicate. Heavy animal proteins can be hard on the digestive system and cause bloating. If your child seems fussy, it may not be the case. It may be because they can’t digest or absorb animal protein well yet.”
