Daily Bites: Alice Hampton

ALICE HAMPTON, BEAUTY EXECUTIVE, NEW YORK CITY.
ALICE HAMPTON LOVES LIPSTICK, PANCAKES AND GREEK YOGURT ICE CREAM. HERE SHE CHATS TO DR. LAUBSCHER PHD ABOUT HOW SHE FUELS HER EVERYDAY.
Breakfast: I have the same breakfast every single day. I call it pancakes, however it is a little healthier than the ones you get at a café.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup wholegrain oats
1/2 cup egg whites
Dash cinnamon
Coconut oil
Whisk the top three ingredients and cook like pancakes in a light spray of coconut oil. I top with Greek yogurt, fresh raspberries, linseeds, chia seeds and slivered almonds. It is absolutely delicious.
Dr. Simone Laubscher PhD. (DL) says: Sounds amazing. I do a similar mix on weekends and my whole family loves them! The oats are a good clean carb, the egg whites are an excellent protein, cinnamon is fantastic for blood sugar regulation and coconut oil is best to cook with for its high flash point. Your choice of toppings is great, just make sure the yogurt is organic to avoid the hormones. If it is hard to get organic raspberries, use our WelleCo Fruit & Veggie Wash Concentrate to remove unwanted toxins.

Mid-morning snack: Decaf iced almond milk latte and a Quest protein bar (chocolate chip cookie dough is my fave).
DL: Decaf almond latte is fine. Here are the ingredients of your Quest bar -
Protein Blend (Milk Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate), Soluble Corn Fiber (Prebiotic Fiber), Almonds, Water, Unsweetened Chocolate, Erythritol, Cocoa Butter, Natural Flavors. Contains less than 2% of the following: Sea Salt, Sucralose, Steviol Glycosides (Stevia).
Since the main ingredients are derived from cow's milk, check if they use organic milk. It they don’t, the hormones and antibiotics they give the cow comes out in the milk. This is why WelleCo NOURISHING PROTEIN contains pea and rice protein instead of whey. Whey is a by-product of cow's milk and most companies do not use organic milk due to the high costs. This bar is also very low in nutrition with no wholefoods other than almonds.
If you love this bar, then have it a few times a week, alternating it with a wholefood protein bar, nuts, or WelleCo NOURISHING PROTEIN. You could mix it with your iced latte and decaf coffee, or make a quick smoothie you simply shake-up. This would give you a huge boost of nutrition allowing you to feel mentally and physically strong for the whole day.
Lunch: Half cup of brown rice, two cups of steamed broccoli and a can of tuna.
DL: Take a supergreens, like THE SUPER ELIXIR here on the side to mop up the mercury and any heavy metals in the tuna.
Afternoon snack: I have a super sweet tooth, so always have two pieces of dark chocolate after lunch (Lindt dark chocolate orange or Lindt dark chocolate mint is my fave). I have healthy kale chips too as an afternoon snack.
DL: Since you have a sweet tooth, try adding some good fats to your lunch to see if you can balance out your blood sugar levels. Half an avocado or a handful of slithered almonds would be a great addition.
Dinner: Stir-fried veggies with either a veggie patty or some type of protein like chicken or salmon.
DL: Sounds great! Once again, check the source of your protein and choose organic meats and line-caught fish
Before bed: My husband and I are obsessed with Yasso, a Greek yogurt ice-cream snack. We like to have one before bed.
DL: Here is the ingredients list for a chocolate Yasso bar -
Nonfat Milk, Greek Yogurt (Pasteurised Nonfat Milk, Yogurt Cultures), Sugar, Milk Protein Concentrate, Maltodextrin, Dutch Processed Cocoa, Natural Flavors, Locust Bean Gum, Guar Gum.
Again, check if the milk is organic and what type of sugar they use. Sugar before sleep can easily be converted to fat, so take care. I make homemade ice cream with our WelleCo NOURISHING PROTEIN. Even my kids love it and kids are quite fussy about ice cream!
ADDITIONAL: I also have a cup or two of black or green tea a day plus around 2-3 litres of water.
DL: I hate not feeling hydrated - fantastic!
